Enter the reigning maverick of cross-promotional capitalism: video games. There was once a time when Hollywood couldn’t be touched when it came to over-inflated marketing budgets-hell, “blockbuster” is a term the film industry created to sell itself. No cross-compatibility outside of home theater.Great sound quality, comfortable, easy to set up, chat and game sound, compatible to use with phones and MP3/iPods and look brilliant. Overall, I think the Tritton Triggers are a great headset, and the fact that these are Limited Edition Halo 4 just makes it even better. I think it was easy enough to set up so credit Tritton for that! The volume control is also very useful and easy to use! It is just a case of plugging the normal sound cables (red&white) into the headset cables (also red&white) and you will get sound, you can also plug them into the TV and get sound through both… that might not make a lot of sense without being able to see it, so maybe in the future I will do an explainer video of how to set it up. Setting it up: I didn’t find this difficult but I have seen other reviews saying some have struggled. I tried it as a hands-free as well (testing every area of use) and to be honest, the person I was speaking to said they could hear me clearly and they were so crisp in my headset, much better than the actual phone speaker quality! I also tried the headset out with my iPod on a song with heavy bass and I thought it sounded great, although the cable for just the headset (no volume control cable) isn’t very long so might need an extender for iPods and phones. The sound seems deep, meaning there is some bass to make it sound a bit more realistic with explosions and gun shots (tested on COD: BO2 as well!). The chat and game volume are easy to control and sound great. Things like a grav-lift which is around the corner, I could hear it clearly meaning I was aware someone was coming my way. I found that I could hear smaller details in Halo 4 online and from further away which helped my gameplay. You can crank this headset up pretty loud and it doesn’t lose its quality and really helps to play the game. The sound quality, arguably the most important factor. ![]() The padding on both the headband and the headphones is comfortable and feels nice, it is smooth and squishy! (I have owned a pair of headphones where the ear padding was hard and irritable!) The microphone bends nicely the way you want it, making it easy to position when talking to friends. I imagine after several hours they might begin to get a little bit uncomfortable, just around the edge of the ears, but this is only on the assumption that they are similar to most over-ear headphones of this size. ![]() On top of that, we move on to ergonomics! How do they fit and how comfy? Well, they fit my head very well and they seem comfortable from what I have played so far, that being a couple of hours with them on. Halo 4 is then written over the top of the headband in the normal Halo writing which looks cool and then the awesome UNSC logos, one on the inside of each headphone. The design the Halo 4 decal around the edge transforms the normally plain Triggers (still a great headset) into something more exciting, especially as a Halo fan with the UNSC Eagle on one headphone and then the Infinity writing and logo on the other ear.
